This weekend house at a lake was designed to fit easily into the curving hillside, take advantage of wonderful lake views, keep cool in summer, and provide protection from wildfires.

The roof slopes in two directions, from the two-story loft down to the living room, and following the curve of the landscape. The roof is covered with a single membrane fabric which is also highly fire resistant. 

The house is powered by complete photovoltaic array with a back-up generator.
